I’m clogged.
For the past couple of days, I’ve been working on compiling all of my favorite works for what will eventually be my professional portfolio. It’s a huge undertaking, gathering all of my illustrations, designs, taking screenshots and what have you, as well as trying to put it all together into one cohesive, eye-catching design.
I decided now was as good a time as any. I’ve been designing websites since I was ten years old, so why shouldn’t I hop on the bandwagon? Another little nudge that prompted me to finally begin this ridiculous task was browsing some portfolio sites, and seeing the outrageous prices some “web developers” charge for their ghastly fucking designs. Some of the people are still using tables. TABLES, PEOPLE. I love using tables, but the difference is that I use them for what they are intended for: organizing tabular data. Tables are not meant to be used as a layout structure and the mere thought makes me cringe.
So, for the next week or so, I’ll be wracking my brains trying to fit all of the ideas I have flowing out everywhere into one design. One design that truly communicates what I can bring to the table. If you don’t hear from me soon, it’s either because I’m elbow-deep in code, or because I’ve just jumped out of a window on the 30th floor. See you soon?
