I’m Back
A new layout, and with it, a new year and a new outlook on how I maintain this website.
I've decided to keep Neonglow on top of all of my other projects. In the end, I'd miss it. I'd miss having a place to write personal blogs and I'd miss the sense of community I get from interacting with other like-minded individuals.
I'm still working on this layout, so don't be surprised if you see strange things going on. I have a lot planned for the structure of this website, so stay tuned.
Progress on my upcoming project is slow but steady. It's a nightmare going through my entire hard drive, choosing my favorite images, creating thumbnails, organizing them by category, etc. I've limited most of the categories down to what I view as my best work in each one, so that's made it a little easier. It's difficult to choose which photos to display, because as well all know, we're our own worst critics.
The holidays were good to me, and everything was pretty low key around here. Santa brought me just what I asked for, namely this delicious piece of fabric-sex:
to replace the horrid $16 black thing from Wal-mart that had previously been used to store my camera and lenses. I also got a remote shutter release for my camera, which has been really fun to test out. I'm not sure the practical use of it, considering I don't take a lot of photos with me in them, but it's a fun novelty item to have.
I also finally received my Moo business cards in the mail! They're super high quality, and I love them. The photo doesn't do them justice, the printing and paper quality are phenominal.
I've also been on an expedition for several months trying to find a really good print house to use for client projects, and my friend Erin recommended Miller's Professional Imaging. You upload 4 images that they print for you to see that your monitor is calibrated, and then their staff of color experts make final adjustments for you on one print, while the other is printed as-is. Mine came out fabulous the way they were, but it's a nice service that they offer anyway.
I'm painting everyday and working on a huge array of projects at the moment. I've also started a brand new art journal for 2009 and I'm super excited to fill it up, you have no idea.
As a result of my little break here, my brain is overflowing with ideas on subjects and content to write about, as well as designs and feature implementations. If any of you are ever stuck in a rut, just take a good week off of working on your website. I'm telling you, when you come back, you won't know what to do with yourself you'll have so many ideas.
Alright kids, I hope you all had a fantastic and safe New Year, and stay tuned while I continue to tweak.
