30Updates
I wanted to post a quick entry regarding a few updates made here and there around the site, as well as thank Vasili and Jem for their help in creating a custom function for the daily photo section of this website, to pull the EXIF data from each photo I upload. If you own a digital camera/upload your photos to Flickr or a similar web-based gallery, you’ve probably seen EXIF data before. It’s information stored in the header of your image file that describes things like your depth of field, ISO, aperture and a ton of other information based on each individual camera manufacturer. It comes in pretty handy when someone wants to know the specifics of one of your shots, or simply to compare settings.
PHP.net has a full manual regarding how this process works, if any of you are interested. It was a little tricky to create a workaround for EE, but luckily EE allows you to utilize PHP and EE-specific template tags within the same template simultaneously. I’ve also added a search form in the navigation menu above, as well as a link to an advanced search form, something I’ve been meaning to get to for quite a while but kept forgetting about. Thanks for reminding me, Nina! :)
I’m already itching to create a new theme, despite the short amount of time this one has been up. I have some pretty major overhaul plans for this website, so in the coming weeks I’ll be planning out how I want to set everything up. It’s difficult for me to keep one idea or style for long, there are always so many new ideas I’d like to incorporate, or improve functionality here. I’m also just ridiculously indecisive.
