If I’d have had any idea how incredible primes are, I would have purchased my camera body without the kit 18-55mm lens. The 18-55 is versatile, and has an autofocus motor in it which is good for certain situations, but there’s no explaining how awesome my 50mm f/1.8 is. It’s fantastic for everything from portraiture to simple nature shots like this, and the Bokeh rendition is fantastic. I definitely recommend buying one if you’re still iffy about it.
